Aboriginal people in the
motor vehicles. Previously,
walking was the sole
means of transport but then, suddenly, the distance
that could be safely traversed in a day from one
waterhole to another no longer applied and to break
down in a waterless place became a frequent hazard.
In the painting such a mishap has befallen the party
in the old truck. To
the rescue comes the tough old
woman with knowledge of every waterhole in the area.
She sets out loaded with billy-cans, coolaman and
